About Hannah
Hannah Smith is a contemporary self-taught artist from Pendle, Lancashire, England. Working primarily in acrylic, her paintings explore the meeting point between spirit and form — where emotion, light, and texture merge to reveal the radiance within all things.
Hannah’s journey with painting began during a period of chronic illness and profound transformation. What started as a quiet act of creation soon became a channel for healing — a prayer in colour and movement. Through her art, she discovered a way to transmute emotion into beauty, pain into radiance, and stillness into flow.
She believes being an artist is an act of vulnerability — a willingness to let truth, love, and loss speak through colour. Each painting begins as a private conversation with the Divine and becomes complete only when it meets another heart. Through this exchange, healing moves — from the personal to the universal, from silence to radiance.
Her lifelong connection to the ocean and the natural world deeply informs her work. Having travelled widely and worked in marine conservation and education across South-East Asia, Fiji, and the Seychelles, she carries a reverence for the elemental — the water, earth, and light that connect all living things.
Hannah’s paintings are diverse in subject — from oceanic and animal studies to ethereal feminine forms — yet each piece holds the same intention: to reveal the Divine within the visible world. Her creative process is intuitive and devotional, blending precision with surrender to the current of inspiration.
